There has been talk in the country for some time that people will have to work only four days a week in the near future.  The central government is planning for this.  A question was asked about him in Parliament on Wednesday.  In his reply, the Union Labor Minister said that the Center has no plans to start work for offices four days a week or 40 hours a week.  "

He said, "Based on the recommendation of the Fourth Pay Commission, the civil administration offices of the Government of India work five days a week and eight and a half hours."  The Seventh Central Pay Commission also upheld its recommendation.

Earlier it was stated that under the new labor law the provision of three days off a week is possible in the coming days.  According to the labor ministry, the central government is preparing to offer an option of four working days a week, along with a three-day paid vacation.  There was speculation that the new Labor Code would also include these options in the rules, on the basis of which the company and employees could make a decision by mutual agreement.  Under the new rules, the government has increased working hours to 12.  The maximum working week limit is 48, so working days can be reduced to five.

EPF's new rules: Giving more details about the announcement made in the EPF's tax budget, the Labor Secretary said that the tax will be levied only on the employee's contribution for investing more than Rs 1 lakh.  The company's contribution will not be in its efficiency nor will it be burdened.  Also, EPF and PPF cannot be added for discount.

The decision has been taken by the government due to the huge increase in investment and interest expenses by high paid people.  According to the Labor Ministry, only one lakh 23 thousand shareholders out of 6 crore will be affected by the new rules.
